Well since I've been back from Argentina I haven't done much of anything health related. Well not entirely true, I have been eating more fruits and veggies. Last Tuesday I worked out with Gilad for 30 minutes. But since then I've had the sniffles and been exhausted so that's that. Starting in December I'm going to get myself back on track. I need to start running again and exercising with weights. Eating I think I'm doing okay. When I feel satisfied I stop even though the food is really good I'm not forcing it down. Fortunately I didn't gain that much weight since I've been off the wagon. Only like 3 pounds, I mainly just lost muscle tone. So need to get that back. Starting next week I'll be having my weekly updates to keep myself on track and to hold myself accountable.
Week seven day three
I'm guessing its week 7 because it sure isn't week 5 :) Well the fruit/veggie detox went well. The reason I know it did is because I lost another 3 pounds!!!! Woohoo! I decided to weigh myself today for giggles and when I saw that I did a happy dance. So this definitely encourages me to keep it up with the fruit and veggies. I have now incorporated them into my diet and I must say I feel much better. I'm eating way less bread (as I bite into my pb&j :) and lots of snacking on fruit or nuts only. I'm keeping up the running. Had a really good run yesterday. Next week going to kick it up a notch and get back into my strength training with my videos. I've just been running since I've gotten back from the vacations. So only 2 1/2 weeks till Argentina. I think I can do it and drop another 2-4 pounds. If I drop another 5 that would be the icing on the cake :) so to speak. Hope your exercise is going well. Keep your eye on the prize!
What Week is this?
Sorry I have not been updating my blog. I was on vacay the past two weekends, eating like an oinker so had nothing to report on the chub rub front, other than the fact I was losing my firm legs. When I got back from Vegas last week I wasn't in the mood to work out. So finally am kicking it into high gear again this week. Starting today I'm doing a veggie/fruit detox. Its not super strict though and I can still eat some yummy stuff. Such as fish, brown rice and nuts.
Redid how many calories I should be eating a day to lose weight and its actually 1600 instead of 1900. That could explain why i only lost 5 lbs ha! Only gained 1 lb with all that eating of junk so not to far off track. Also, started exercising again today with my 2-3 mile run this morning. So off to a good start, just need to go grocery shopping so I can have the healthy food at home instead of going to Wholefoods for lunch. (spent $11.50 on healthy fare, yikes!)
4 weeks to Argentina, so here we go again!
No Update
There isn't an update this week because I didn't want to weigh myself after this weekend. Started eating on Friday and didn't stop till Monday morning, sigh. So almost positive I gained weight. Then this weekend I'm going to Vegas, I will try not to go all out, but it will be hard. To prepare myself I've run the past two days and running tomorrow. No videos this week, i need to burn burn burn the calories off before Thursday night :) I'll be back on track with updates and progress in 2 weeks.
Week Five, Day Four
Oh happy day. So for giggles I decided to try on my jeans this morning. Guess what? They fit. I no longer look like this while wearing them
So even though I haven't lost any more weight I have lost inches :) Since I'm focusing on my abs right now (need to lose the jellyroll, its being very stubborn) I did pilates this morning and my 11 minute ab routine. But anyways, i'm very happy right now about the jeans. Now if I can fit into my older jeans, I'll be ecstatic.
Week Five, Day Two
Sorry no update yesterday. It was labor day and I didn't get on the computer. Started off my week the same as every week. With a nice long run in the morning. I weighed myself this morning (since I went to a party on Sunday and ate mass quantities of food and drink, didn't want to weigh myself Monday) still weigh the same. :( But even though I weigh the same I am losing inches, hooray! My skirts no longer fit above my belly button. They are resting comfortably on my hips below my navel. I still haven't tried my jeans on yet, I think I'll wait till next week. Squeeze in one more week of exercise. Hopefully this week I can drop a pesky pound or two. But we shall see. Only a week to go and I'll be in Vegas!
Week Four Day Two
So had a nice fast walk with the dog this morning, about 30 minutes. Then came in to do my workout video, The Firm: Dangerous Curves. I like the workout but the girl is super cheese. Not to mention I think two of the girls in the video are anorexic. Like 0% body fat, its a bit disconcerting. I got the warm-up and lower body done when Mike called. He forgot we have CO tonight so he needed me to bring his shaving kit to work. So couldn't finish the rest of the video. I did squeeze in the ab workout real quick before I started getting ready for work. Even though I didn't finish the whole video my lower body is sore today. Everytime I get up from my chair and walk around I feel tight :) Its a good thing (so says Martha Stewart's head).

So wrote that yesterday and never had a chance to post it. So just giving you an update. I'm even sorer today and I ran the entire time this morning. Its a lot easier to finish my run when its not 90 degrees out and 85% humidity. ha! I'm noticing legs and backside looking smaller. Need to look up what are some superfoods for the belly b/c it doesn't appear to be going anywhere. boo! Happy humpday :)

Week Four, Day One
So another week has gone by. Sadly I did not lose any weight this past week :( I wonder if it could be b/c I ate an egg mcmuffin on Friday morning, chinese for lunch on Saturday (and ice cream for dinner) and yesterday had 1/2 a cuban sandwich and a slice of cherry pie? Possibly. Oh well. I'm not giving up I can't expect to lose weight every week. I got up and ran this morning in the rain. That was kinda fun. Was still sweaty by the time I finished. I figured out it takes 3 laps of my apartment complex to do 2.5 miles. That's good to know in case my mp3 is dead and I don't have the guy queuing me when to run and stop. Also since it wasn't horribly hot I managed to run the entire 25 minutes (minus the 2 times I stopped to retie my left shoe). So that was encouraging. Making some progress on the running front. I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Goal for this week - lose 2 lbs and fit into my fave jeans. (esp since Las Vegas is only 2 1/2 weeks away and I said I would lose 10 lbs before i went. gulp)
Hump Day
So today I managed to get into my khakis that I bought last year. I haven't been able to wear them in recent months. I was worried they were going to split in the back for being too tight. haha! So now they fit nicely and no longer screaming when I walk around. Also, I don't have sausage legs or muffin top when I wear them, hooray! Even though I do still have my jellyroll. But my mom says your muscles retain water when you work out so once that goes away maybe my belly will be flat? Yeah I know in my dreams. heehee! I have been doing good with exercising this week. Wasn't that hot today as the past couple weeks but still managed to sweat excessively. I just need to keep an eye on what I'm eating. I have tendency to lose a few pounds and then think that justifies my eating more. So I must be careful in that regard. Anyhoodle, I hope your weight loss plans are going well. Cheerio!
p.s. Why am I sounding british at the end of this? Bugger.
Week Three Day One
Well its the beginning of another week. We are off to a good start weight wise with me losing another 2 lbs. Hooray! Surprising since I ate like a piglet on Saturday and Sunday night. But does 3 slices of pizza really qualify me as a piglet? Or just someone who was starving and only had a bowl of oatmeal that morning. I go with the starving option.
On another note I'm sick again. I declare I have been more sick this year than any other year of my life. Had the wicked bad cough cold back in march or april. That knocked me out for 2 weeks. The swine flu possibly, but most likely, back in July and now this. Sore scratchy throat, stuffy nose, neckache, tired. Even though I feel like crap I still ran this morning. In the past when I have been sick I don't exercise until I'm better. But then I get out of the habit and its sooo hard to start up again. So didn't run the full 25 minutes but did run 15 and walk 15 this morning. If still feeling cruddy tomorrow I will be doing pilates again. Much easier to lay down and exercise then stand up and do squats haha!
Not feeling well
Well yesterday woke up and wasn't in a Slim in Six mood. So did my Winsor Pilates instead, Bun & Thigh and the Ab workout. My legs were burning like crazy. I ate randomness yesterday. Don't think it was bad, just random stuff. Had cream of wheat for breakfast. For lunch had some homemade soup and a cheese sandwich. Then later ate some applesauce. Dinner I ate a small Wendy's chili with cheese and when I got home had a scoop of mashed potatoes. Just random and no fruit because we need to buy more (and forgot I have pineapple slices in the cupboard).
Last night I couldn't get to sleep till almost 1:30 then woke up at 3/4ish because the ceiling fan was rattling then couldn't fall asleep again. So needless to say because of my lack of sleep I didn't run this morning. On top of that feeling out of sorts, stuffy nose, sore throat and just tired. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be back on track and do my run. I'm starting to notice a difference in my legs so I'm not giving up!

Hooootttt
Oh my goodness its so stinking hot outside. When I woke up this morning and took the dog out for her potty as soon as I opened the door the air hit me in the face. I almost talked myself out of running because running in this kind of humidity is a huge drag. But I hurried up and got ready and drove over to the neighborhood I like running in. I almost ran the whole way up without stopping just took short breaks. But on the way back to the car I was just shuffling along. Ha! It was so hot I was sweating on my arms. Like in those gatorade commercials where you can see the sweat all over the ppl's bodies that's how I looked except not so glamorous. Completely soaked by the time I got to the car. I better lose some weight this week with all that I've gone through.
On another note I have been eating within my calorie limit. Even though I felt like I was cheating last night because I made mild italian sausage with mashed potatoes and corn. The calorie counter said I was fine but I don't know, eating mashed potatoes feels bad but tastes sooo good :) yum! Tonight a sister invited me and nikki over to eat some pupusas salvadoreña which aren't really fattening since there is no lard involved. I just have to control myself and not eat 20 of them, they are soooo good. I wouldn't even go but she is leaving back to El Salvador and she is a really sweet older sister. So that's my progress so far.

Week Two - Day One
So made it through the weekend. Can't believe I did it :) My splurge day was Saturday dinner. I had a bowl of pork fried rice and 3 crab rangoons. Strangely enough I only ate one bowl. I didn't want anymore after that. Yesterday we went to Ruby Tuesdays and I was very good. I got the salad bar and broccoli and cheese soup (ok the soup was a little bad but not terrible). We went bike riding last night so logged in 13 miles doing that. Woke up this morning with sore legs and feeling out of sorts but I still managed to run this morning. Go me!
Also, I weighed myself this morning and I lost 3 pounds :) I can tell I lost a little because yesterday I managed to button up one of my shirts all the way. And it didn't look like the button was bout to pop off haha! Now when I can fit into my old pants/jeans again then I'll be real happy.
The Weekend
Well didn't run yesterday. Woke up with a sore throat and a headache. But I did manage to eat healthy all day and even resisted the temptation of eating Mike's fries. To makeup for yesterday I ran today. I also brought my lunch with me today so I won't be tempted to eat fast food while in service. Today is my splurge day not sure yet what I'm going to eat. Leaning towards japanese. Hmm we shall see.
Day Four
Nothing new to report. Almost didn't work out this morning because it felt so good in the bed. But managed to drag myself out of the bed and do my 45 minute work out tape. Now I'm walking around sore. I used the exercise band today instead of weights and I can really feel the difference in my arms. They are both tight which is a good sign :) I have all my food with me for the rest of the day. Its going to be tough for the rest of week because now I'll be out in service and that's where my will fails me. So I have to make sure I pack my lunch and snacks. Do not give in to the power of the fast food.

Day Three
So I finally know what works on getting me out of the bed in the morning. I need an alarm clock with a snooze button. My old clock (phone) would only go off once. So i would hit it and go right back to sleep and wake up 2 hours later. ha! My new clock (phone) has a snooze and it goes off every 7 minutes till I get up. So usually on the fourth one I'm awake enough to get out of bed. So got up this morning got ready and took the dog for a run. We go to a nice neighborhood nearby that has a looooong sidewalk. So I run/walk for 2.5 miles. I did much more running today than my other day, even though I was sore from doing my video yesterday. So far I'm off to a great start. I made a salad for lunch today, which is a miracle in of itself. Since I'm not fond of the green healthy stuff. This won't be an everyday occurrence but thought I do something diff today. I'm actually eating under my calorie limit today even though I'll be eating a lot of food. I think its all the fruit since it doesn't take up as much calories. That's all for now. Toodles!
Day Two
I keep trying to add a countdown clock to my blog but it only shows up in lime green, blech! Got up again today and exercised. Walked the dog for 45 minutes and did my slim in six video. Needless to say I'm exhausted. I get a brief burst of energy just after exercising then an hour or two later I need a nap. The only thing saving me right now is my coffee. I just put in all the food I'm eating today on my calorie counter. When you have everything there in a long list staring at you it looks like a lot. :| But I'm coming right in at my calorie count of 1900. So after dinner tonight no snacks for me. I've tried putting the calorie counter on the blog but when I log off it goes to 0 calories. So annoying to check into various sites to check my progress. Oh well. So for day two I'm on track.
End of Day One
Today I ran 10 minutes and walked 25 minutes in the morning. I've eaten under my calorie limit and everything was homemade. This evening I took the dog for a walk for about 30 minutes.
Day One
This is my personal diary of my struggle with weight loss. I've always been a big boned girl. I don't necessarily look that overweight but I am uncomfortable in my own skin. I have gained 15 lbs since I got married and that has made me feel awful. Hardly any of my clothes fit and I'm constantly self conscious. My goal is to drop 15-20 lbs. 
This is my motivation picture. Neck fat is sooo unflattering. This is going to be my workout and food intake blog. If I am held accountable then maybe I'll stick with this regimen. My plan is to run on M/W/F and do my Slim in Six tapes on T/Th. That's 5 days of working out getting my cardio and strength training. Plus we ride bikes every weekend so either on Saturday or Sunday ride the bike 13 miles.
As for food I'm just dropping all fast food. That's my biggest downfall. Unless its a salad I'm not eating it. No more soda either, which won't be so hard to stop. So hopefully by the end of November I'll be at my desired goal.
